The BTBA Sales Graduates and Queen’s Plate raceday has been abandoned

PRESS RELEASE

The Board of Directors of the Barbados Turf Club at a meeting held on Sunday September 18, 2011 decided that the 10th Raceday of the 2nd Racing Season 2011 (The BTBA Sale Graduates and Queen’s Plate Raceday) which had been postponed on two occasions, would be abandoned in order to facilitate repairs and maintenance work on both the turf (grass) and sand tracks as soon as possible.

Work on the turf track commenced on the evening of Monday 19th September and the grading of the sand track is scheduled to take place from Friday 23 to Monday September 26, 2011 during which, the exercise/sand track will be closed. The regular operating schedule should resume from Tuesday  September 27, 2011.

It is expected that racing will resume on Saturday November 05, 2011.

The Club looks forward to the cooperation and support of all stakeholders in the industry as we try to make the necessary improvements to the benefit of all investors.
