THE Barbados Turf Club’s first racing season continues today at the Garrison Savannah, with the feature race being race seven, the Michael Parravicino Memorial Stakes & Trophy, for Barbados Bred 3-year-olds, going 1570 metres, and carrying a total purse of $62,776.
Both Vitality and Istanbul are coming off of three straight wins, and it would not be surprising if the two end up fighting out the finish. Island Memories and Cinnamon Jane, could be the dangers.
There are two supporting features, the first being race five, the Realtors Limited Trophy (Condition Race) for imported (non-West Indian bred) 3-year-old Maidens and West Indian bred 3-year-old winners.
Slip Stream, looks like an easy winner on paper, while good runs are expected from, Giovedi, and Graeme Hill.
The second supporting feature is race six, the Condominiums At Palm Peach Trophy Handicap, for 3-year-olds and older rated 115-140 (also open to 3-year-olds and older horses rated 114 and below), sprinting 1100 metres.
This is a very competitive race that could end in a blanket finish.
Peaceful Envoy, Preach To Me, Kingdora, and Spicey Tiger, could end up as the ones to follow.
In race one, Domineering, Tantal Eyes and Wynterose have to be considered.
Another very competitive race is the second on the card. Fedrica drawn one has a lot of speed, and could be the one to beat, while Run Alke Run, Bond Street, and Spellbound, are capable of good runs.
In race three, Lady Patrick is in good form and could be the one to beat, while Moonstone, Gin For Me and Who’s Calling could be the dangers.
Cassanova was a winner last time out and could repeat in race four.
Double Dagger, Midnight Express and Unreal could makeup the superfecta combination.
Captain Sully, Silk N’ Satin, Ring Time and Surinan could be the ones fighting out the finish in the final race.
Post time for the first race is 1.45pm.
