General Wagering Information

  1. State the RACE NUMBER on which you wish to place a bet. 
  2. State the DOLLAR AMOUNT of your wager (bet). There is a minimum of $1 (0.50 box & wheel), on all transactions.
  3. Tell the Pari-Mutuel operator the TYPE OF WAGER you wish to make (Win, Place, Forecast, (exacta),  Trifecta, Superfecta, Hi-5, Daily Double, Pick-3, Pick-4 and SOCA-6)
  4. State the RUNNER NUMBER or NUMBERS, of the horse or horses, on which you wish to bet. (To avoid confusion, please do not to use the horses’ name).

Example:

“In Race #1 - I’d like to bet $1 to win on number 4.”

“In Race #1 - Please give me a $1 forecast, (exacta),  numbers 7 and 3.”

**Remember to check your tickets and count your money before leaving the window, and always hold your tickets until the race is declared OFFICIAL.

Then, if you are a winner, go to any Pari-Mutuel window and collect your winnings!

Win

– When you bet a horse to win, you win if your horse finishes first.

Place

– When you bet a horse to place, you win if your horse finishes first, second or third.

-In races with five, six and seven starters, payout is on first and second only.

-There will be no place betting on races with less than five starters.

Forecast, (Exacta)

– To win a forecast, or Exacta bet, you must choose the two horses finishing first and second in the exact order.

Trifecta

– You must choose the first three finishers in their exact order.

Superfecta

– You must choose the first four finishers in their exact order.

HIGH-5

– You must choose the first five finishers in the exact order.

Daily Double

– This wager requires you to pick the winners of two consecutive races as designated by the Barbados Turf Club.

Pick 3

– This wager requires you to pick the winners of three consecutive races as designated by the Barbados Turf Club.

Pick 4

– This wager requires you to pick the winners of 4 consecutive races as designated by the Barbados Turf Club. If no one picks 4 of 4 winners, the pool is carried over to the next Race Day.

SOCA-6

– This wager requires you to pick the winners of 6 consecutive races as designated by the Barbados Turf Club. If no one picks 6 of 6 winners, the pool is carried over to the next Race Day.

  • Superfecta and High-5 wagers, regardless of field size, are offered at the BTC discretion.
  • Winning or Refunded tickets can be cashed within six (6) months to the day of the race program they were purchased. Tickets can be presented to any Mutuel Teller during subsequent live race days or can be cashed at the BTC Accounts office during normal business hours.
  • Torn, wet, mutilated, or otherwise unreadable Pari-Mutuel tickets will not be considered.
  • Any & All claims of lost winning or refunded Pari-Mutuel tickets will NOT be considered.

DEFINITION OF A SINGLE WINNER FOR THE  PURPOSE OF

SUPERFECTA, HI-5, PICK-4 OR SOCA-6 PAYOUT GUARANTEE’S

The Barbados Turf Club wishes to inform and clarify for the betting public, the club’s definition of a “Single Winner” for wagers the club offers with this incentive.

“SINGLE WINNER” means the holder of the only ticket selecting the winning combination as required by that specific wager type.

In the case of a Dead Heat for any finishing position as required for the specific wager in which therefore two or more winning combinations are declared, “SINGLE WINNER” shall mean the holder of the only ticket selecting a winning combination.

  1. The minimum base amount for a BTC Superfecta wager is $1.00. (0.50 box & wheel)
  2. The BTC reserves the right to withhold, on a reasonable basis, any payment due to a potential winner until it is satisfied that all the conditions are met.
  3. If there is no winning Superfecta ticket sold, the pool will be accumulated and carried over to the next specified Superfecta race on the day provided that a minimum of 8 horses were declared to start at the final stage of declaration. If there are no remaining Superfecta races with eight (8) declared starters, the pool will be carried over to a designated  Superfecta wager on the next raceday.
  4. To qualify you must be of a legal age to place a horse racing wager in Barbados.
  5. Official race results and order of finish shall be determined by the BTC’s Rules and Regulations as they apply to thoroughbred races conducted at the Garrison Savannah.
  6. Failure to follow all the Rules as outlined above, will forfeit all rights to any winner(s) of the BTC’s Superfecta wager.
  7. The Barbados Turf Club reserves the right to cancel any Superfecta wager once the race has less than eight (8) declared starters.
  8. The BTC is solely responsible for this promotion and it reserves the right to cancel or modify it at its own discretion.
  1. The minimum base amount for a BTC High-5 wager is $1.00. (0.50 box & wheel)
  2. The BTC reserves the right to withhold, on a reasonable basis, any payment due to a potential winner until it is satisfied that all the conditions are met.
  3. If there is no winning High-5 ticket  sold, the pool will be accumulated and carried over to the next specified High-5 race on the day provided that a minimum of 8 horses were declared to start at the final stage of declaration. If there are no remaining High-5 races with eight (8) declared starters, the pool will be carried over to a designated High-5 wager on the next raceday.
  4. To qualify you must be of a legal age to place a horse racing wager in Barbados.
  5. Official race results and order of finish shall be determined by the BTC’s Rules and Regulations as they apply to thoroughbred races conducted at the Garrison Savannah.
  6. Failure to follow all the Rules as outlined above, will forfeit all rights to any winner(s) of the BTC’s High-5 wager.
  7. The Barbados Turf Club reserves the right to cancel any High-5 wager once the race has less than eight (8) declared starters.
  8. The BTC is solely responsible for this promotion and it reserves the right to cancel or modify it at its own discretion.

 

  1. The minimum base amount for a BTC Daily Double wager is $1.00 / $0.50 (wheel)
  2. The BTC reserves the right to withhold, on a responsible basis, any payment due to a potential winner until it is satisfied that all the conditions are met.
  3. The Daily Double pool shall be distributed in the following precedence (a) To those whose selection finished first in each of the two contests. (b) To those who selected the first-place finisher in either of the two contests. (c) To those who selected the one covered first-place finisher in either contest. (d) To those whose selection finished second in each of the two contests; but if there are no such wagers, then (e) The entire pool shall be refunded on Daily Double wagers for those contests.
  4. Should a betting interest in the first-half of the Daily Double be scratched prior to the first Daily Double contest being declared official, all money wagered on combinations including the scratched betting interest shall be refunded. Should a betting interest in the second-half of the Daily Double be scratched prior to the close of wagering on the first contest, all money wagered on combinations including the scratched betting interest shall be refunded. Should a betting interest in the second-half of the Daily Double be scratched after the close of wagering on the first Daily Double contest, all wagers combining the winner of the first contest with the scratched betting interest in the second contest shall be allocated a consolation payout.
  5. To qualify you must be of legal age to place a horse racing wager in Barbados.
  6. Official race results and order of finish shall be determined by the BTC’s Rules and Regulations as they apply to thoroughbred races conducted at the Garrison Savannah.
  7. Failure to follow all the rules as outlined above will forfeit all rights to any winner(s) of the BTC’s Daily Double wager.
  8. The BTC is solely responsible for this promotion and it reserves the right to cancel or modify it at its own discretion.

 

  1. The minimum base amount for a BTC Pick-3 wager is $1.00 /$0.50 (wheel)
  2. The BTC reserves the right to withhold, on a responsible basis, any payment due to a potential winner until it is satisfied that all the conditions are met.
  3. The Pick-3 pool shall be distributed in the following precedence (a) To those whose selection finished first in each of the three contests. (b) To those who selected the first-place finisher in any two of the three contests. (c) To those who selected the first-place finisher in any one of the three contests, but if there are no such wagers, then (d) The entire pool shall be refunded on Pick-3 wagers for those contests.
  4. Should a betting interest in the first contest be scratched prior to the start of the Pick-3 wager, all money wagered on combinations including this scratched betting interest shall be refunded.  Should a betting interest in the second or third contest of the Pick-3 wager, be scratched prior to the close of wagering on the first Pick-3 contest, all money wagered on combinations including the scratched betting interest shall be refunded.
  5. Should a betting interest in the second or third contest of the Pick-3 be scratched after the close of wagering on the first Pick-3 contest, all wagers combining the winner of the first contest with the scratched betting interest in the second or third contest shall be allocated a consolation payout.
  6. Should a betting interest in the second and third contest of the Pick-3 be scratched after the close of wagering on the first Pick-3 contest, all wagers combining the winner of the first contest with the scratched betting interest in the second and third contest shall be allocated a consolation payout.
  7. To qualify you must be of legal age to place a horse racing wager in Barbados.
  8. Official race results and order of finish shall be determined by the BTC’s Rules and Regulations as they apply to thoroughbred races conducted at the Garrison Savannah.
  9. Failure to follow all the rules as outlined above will forfeit all rights to any winner(s) of the BTC’s Pick-3 wager.
  10. The BTC is solely responsible for this promotion and it reserves the right to cancel or modify it at its own discretion.
 
  1. The minimum base amount for a BTC Pick-4 wager is $1.00 / $0.50 (wheel)
  2. The BTC reserves the right to withhold, on a reasonable basis, any payment due to a potential winner until it is satisfied that all the conditions are met.
  3. The Pick-4 will payout 100% of the net pool plus any carry-over from previous days to holders of 4-out-of-4 winning Pick-4 races.
  4. If there are no tickets sold selecting all 4-out of-4 winners, 100% of the net Pick-4 pool, including any carryover, will be accumulated and carried over to the next Pick -4 game.
  5. Should a betting interest in any of the Pick-4 contests scratch, the scratched runner will be substituted with the runner carrying the highest number of units in that contests Win  pool.  If two or more horses carry the same number of units in the Win pool, this substitution will be made on the horse with the lowest post position number allotted to it.
  6. To qualify you must be of a legal age to place a horse racing wager in Barbados.
  7. Official race results and order of finish shall be determined by the BTC’s Rules and Regulations as they apply to thoroughbred races conducted at the Garrison Savannah.
  8. Failure to follow all the Rules as outlined above, will forfeit all rights to any winner(s) of the BTC’s Pick-4 wager.
  9. The BTC is solely responsible for this promotion and it reserves the right to cancel or modify it at its own discretion.

 

  1. The minimum base amount for a BTC SOCA-6 wager is $1.00 / $0.50 (wheel)
  2. The BTC reserves the right to withhold, on a responsible basis, any payment due to a potential winner until it is satisfied that all the conditions are met.
  3. The SOCA-6 will payout 100% of the net pool plus any carry-over from previous days to holders of 6-out-of-6 winning SOCA-6 races.
  4. If there are no tickets sold selecting all 6-out of-6 winners, the pool will be accumulated and carried over to the next SOCA-6 game.
  5. Should a betting interest in any of the SOCA-6 contests scratch, the scratched runner will be substituted with the runner carrying the highest number of units in that contests Win  pool.  If two or more horses carry the same number of units in the Win pool, this substitution will be made on the horse with the lowest post position number allotted to it.
  6. To qualify you must be of legal age to place a horse racing wager in Barbados.
